Remember those little Smack Ramon noodle packages that only cost about a dime?  I ate them all the time all throughout my childhood and my college years. Delicious, but not very nutritious right? Well, today Marcus Samuelsson (celebrity chef) appeared on Dr Oz to share his smack ramon noodle recipe WITHOUT all the salt as well as many other nutritious ingredients like salmon, onions, garlic, etc...

This seared salmon recipe looks really easy to make and it's a nutritious meal that costs less than 10 dollars. Fast, cheap, and nutritious. How can you beat that?  Here are the ingredients and the directions that were shared on today's "July 9, 2012) Dr Oz show.

Seared Salmon and Ramen Noodle Recipe and Ingredients :



Ingredients :

  • 8 ounces of salmon (most fillets you get are 4 ounces)
  • 1 quart of water
  • Garlic clove (chopped into small pieces)
  • 2 chopped scallions
  • 1/2 tablespoon of curry powder (use curry instead of those salt packets! You can also use masala mix if you like)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of miso
  • 1 teaspoon of fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 4 cherry tomatoes (slice the tomatoes into quarters)
  • 2 pieces of asparagus (chopped)
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions to make Seared Salmon  Ramon Noodles Recipe

  • Generously coat the salmon with curry or masala powder
  • Heat pain with olive oil and saute the salmon fillets
  • Add red onion, garlic, and scallios
  • Sear the salmon two minutes on each side
  • Bring the quart of water to a boil
  • Add asparagus, fish sauce, and cherry tomatoes
  • Add the lime juice, basil, and soy sauce to the pan
  • Pour mixture over the salmon
  • Serve and enjoy your seared salmon and ramon noodles recipe!
