Shrimp Fettucine Alfredo Recipe by Lisa Lillian



Ingredients :

  • 1 pack of Shirataki Fettucine noodles (pasts that only has 10 calories... You can't beat that!)
  • 1 light swiss cheese wedge
  • 1 tsp of reduced fat sour cream
  • 1/2 cup of broccoli (florets)
  • 1/2 cup of spinach (chopped)
  • 2 teaspoons of low fat parmesan cheese topping
  • 3 ounces of ready to eat shrimp
  • Seasonings of your choice (there isn't much flavor to shirataki noodles.. Spices will help with this)
Directions on how to make Shrimp Fettucini Alfredo using Shirataki noodles

  • Rinse shirataki noodles thoroughly
  • add low fat sour cream and mix
  • Add shrim
  • add spinach
  • Add brocolli florets
  • Add seasonings
  • Sprinkle the shredded low fat Parmesan cheese on top of the pasta
  • Enjoy

After Lisa shared her recipe Dr Oz did a nutritional comparison with other shrimp fettucini alfredo recipes.  The "Hungry Girl" recipe shared today only has 195 calories per serving.  A traditional shrimp fettucini alfredo recipe would have approximately 1000 calories! Wow, this is a huge difference.  The hungry girl recipe shared on Dr Oz also only has 4.5 grams of fat, 12 carbs, 5 grams of fiber, and 21 grams of protein.

On today's July 16, 2012 Dr Oz Show, Anthony Caporale (a "cocktail expert") joined Dr Oz on stage to show the viewers how you can make a delicious "skinny" Sangria and Margarita with 1/2 the calories! Ok, I'm trying one of these tonight, for sure....  When Dr Oz asked Anthony what the secret is, he said that one of the secrets is to use real fruit instead of flavorings loaded with sugar.

Ingredients :

  •  1 ounce jalapeno tequila
  • 1/2 ounce pear nectar
  • squeezed lime juice (from one lime)
  • Instead of using triple sec use orange zest.  Anthony said that triple sec is a syrup that is loaded with sugar)

How to make : Shake the ingredients listed above and pour into a glass.  Easy as that!

This "Skinny Margarita" contains 90 calories. A regular margarita hows 300 calories. Wow, huge difference!

Skinny Sangria Recipe (As seen on July 16, 2012 Dr Oz Show)



This one looked especially delicious and very fruity!  Here is how you make a Skinny Sangria :

Ingredients :

  • 2 cups of ice
  • Lemon slice
  • Orange slice
  • Strawberry slice
  • Peach slice
  • 1 teaspoon of orange blossom honey
  • 3 hounzes of pinot noir
  • 1/2 ounce pear vodka
  • 1 ounce of rose sparkling wine
Directions on how to make :

Combine all the ingredients above in a mixer and pour into a glass.  You can even get more creative by adding some wine or maybe adding grapes for extra garnishment and fruity flavor.  The "Skinny Sangria" only contains 160 calories. Not to mention you get added antioxidant benefits!

Well, today Marcus Samuelsson (celebrity chef) appeared on Dr Oz to share his smack ramon noodle recipe WITHOUT all the salt as well as many other nutritious ingredients like salmon, onions, garlic, etc...

This seared salmon recipe looks really easy to make and it's a nutritious meal that costs less than 10 dollars. Fast, cheap, and nutritious. How can you beat that?  Here are the ingredients and the directions that were shared on today's "July 9, 2012) Dr Oz show.

Seared Salmon and Ramen Noodle Recipe and Ingredients :



Ingredients :

  • 8 ounces of salmon (most fillets you get are 4 ounces)
  • 1 quart of water
  • Garlic clove (chopped into small pieces)
  • 2 chopped scallions
  • 1/2 tablespoon of curry powder (use curry instead of those salt packets! You can also use masala mix if you like)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of miso
  • 1 teaspoon of fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of soy sauce
  • 4 basil leaves
  • 4 cherry tomatoes (slice the tomatoes into quarters)
  • 2 pieces of asparagus (chopped)
  • Juice from 1 lime
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Directions to make Seared Salmon  Ramon Noodles Recipe

  • Generously coat the salmon with curry or masala powder
  • Heat pain with olive oil and saute the salmon fillets
  • Add red onion, garlic, and scallios
  • Sear the salmon two minutes on each side
  • Bring the quart of water to a boil
  • Add asparagus, fish sauce, and cherry tomatoes
  • Add the lime juice, basil, and soy sauce to the pan
  • Pour mixture over the salmon
  • Serve and enjoy your seared salmon and ramon noodles recipe!
