How To Make Skinny Sangria and Margarita Recipes on Dr Oz
Are you on a diet but still love an occasional cocktail. Well for fortunately for you you can enjoy the best of both worlds! On today's July 16, 2012 Dr Oz Show, Anthony Caporale (a "cocktail expert") joined Dr Oz on stage to show the viewers how you can make a delicious "skinny" Sangria and Margarita with 1/2 the calories! Ok, I'm trying one of these tonight, for sure.... When Dr Oz asked Anthony what the secret is, he said that one of the secrets is to use real fruit instead of flavorings loaded with sugar.
Skinny Margarita Recipe (As seen on the July 16, 2012 Dr Oz Show)
Ingredients :
- 1 ounce jalapeno tequila
- 1/2 ounce pear nectar
- squeezed lime juice (from one lime)
- Instead of using triple sec use orange zest. Anthony said that triple sec is a syrup that is loaded with sugar)
How to make : Shake the ingredients listed above and pour into a glass. Easy as that!
How many calories did you save?
This "Skinny Margarita" contains 90 calories. A regular margarita hows 300 calories. Wow, huge difference!
Skinny Sangria Recipe (As seen on July 16, 2012 Dr Oz Show)
This one looked especially delicious and very fruity! Here is how you make a Skinny Sangria :
Ingredients :
- 2 cups of ice
- Lemon slice
- Orange slice
- Strawberry slice
- Peach slice
- 1 teaspoon of orange blossom honey
- 3 hounzes of pinot noir
- 1/2 ounce pear vodka
- 1 ounce of rose sparkling wine
Combine all the ingredients above in a mixer and pour into a glass. You can even get more creative by adding some wine or maybe adding grapes for extra garnishment and fruity flavor. The "Skinny Sangria" only contains 160 calories. Not to mention you get added antioxidant benefits!
