Dr. Oz : Stromboli - Healthy Recipe A Kid Can Make
We all want our kids to eat healthy, but that is easier said than done isn't it? Working full time jobs, kids activities, and the hectic pace of every day life can making healthy food choices a little tenuous at time. Dr .Oz was joined by Weight Watchers, Liz Josefsberg to show the audience and the viewers at home how to make a delicious and healthy recipe that even kids can make!
Stromboli Recipe By Liz Josefsberg on the Dr. Oz Show
Ingredients :
- 1 pound of whole wheat pizza dough (thawed)
- 2 tablespoons of honey mustard
- 1/4 pound of low sodium baked virginia ham
- 1/4 low sodium honey baked turkey breast (thinly sliced)
- 1/2 cups of bottled roasted red peppers (chop and rinse)
- 1/4 pound of Jarlsberg cheese (choose the thinly sliced low fat version)
- 12 arugula leaves
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Lightly spray down a baking sheet with nonstick spray
- roll 1/6 of the pizza dough into a circle on a lightly floured surface.
- Spread honey mustard on top of the 6 inch pizza dough circle that you just rolled
- Add turkey, ham, cheese, argula leaves, and roasted peppers
- Roll up the 6 inch dough you just topped with ingredients
- Tuck the ends of the dough and close the edges to encase the filling
- Repeat with the remaining ingredients and place the rolls on the baking sheet. (place the rolls seam side down on the baking sheet)
- Spray the tops of the rolls with non stick spray
- Bake approximately 30 minutes until the rolls are golden brown
- Remove from oven and let the rolls cool
- Cut the stromboli rolls with a knife
- Contains 305 calories
- 8 grams of fat
